Pope to the youth: Go forward!
Pope Francis has once again spoken to young people preparing to participate in World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023. Three months before the big meeting with young people from all over the world, the Holy Father reminded them that "taking part in WYD is a beautiful thing".
Francis invited all young people to prepare themselves "for this exciting moment", "with hope", because one "grows a lot on a Day like this". In addition, and presented as a meeting of youth, the Holy Father invites each of the young people preparing for WYD Lisbon 2023 to go to meet the elderly, "talk a little with your grandparents, because they give you wisdom".
I'll see you in Lisbon!

It was on 23 October 2022 that Pope Francis signed up, during the recitation of the Angelus in St Peter's Square at the Vatican (Rome), for World Youth Day (WYD) Lisbon 2023, thus marking the opening of registration for the meeting. Pope Francis was thus the first pilgrim to register for the largest gathering of young people from around the world with the Pope, which will take place from August 1-6 in Lisbon under the theme "Mary got up and went in haste" - Lk 1:39.
