Central events
The Central Events include the Opening Mass, the Welcome Ceremony, the Way of the Cross, the Vigil, and the Missioning Mass.
Opening Mass
Opening Mass of the World Youth Day in Lisbon, presided by the Cardinal Patriarch of Lisbon, Manuel Clemente.
We must run in a hurry to the Mass! Like one body, we receive the Bread that is divided to reach everyone and the Wine that we share to bring joy to each one who drinks it, and like that, we become true tabernacles of Christ. With His grace, each pilgrim will also be a missionary and evangelizer in Lisbon.

Welcome
As it is the first moment of encounter between the young people and the Pope, this ceremony will be an event with a festive and meeting environment, keeping the dimension of prayer. It wants to show the young Church that sets out with the successor of Peter towards the construction of a more fraternal society.
Coming from all over the world, we arrive at "Colina do Encontro"! Shall we fill our hearts with joy to celebrate faith and, with gratitude, accompany the arrival of our dear Pope Francis, who invited us to this World Youth Day.

Way of the Cross
Through a prayerful and immersive experience, we want to follow in the footsteps of Jesus in His passion.
With Mary, let us accompany the Lord to the Calvary. If we trust and commit ourselves with no reservation, the power of His love will transform our fragilities in seeds of light to the world. Let us learn with Him that true sovereignty is in service and true royalty is in detachment.

Vigil
One of the events with the Pope in which it will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and pray together.
Let us prepare our hearts to adore the Holy Sacrament remembering our history of faith and the voice of Jesus that always welcomes us and calls us. With Mary, shall we contemplate Him with truth and gratitude. We are together and we are many: let us compromise to deliver joy, beauty and peace of the Lord to all!

Missioning Mass
A celebration presided by the Holy Father to end WYD Lisbon 2023. Before the end of the Mass, the Pope will announce the city that will host the next edition of World Youth Day.
Transformed by the grace of God, we wish to thank Him for what we lived in this World Youth Day. May this mass in "Campo da Graça" strengthen us with His Holy Spirit, so that when returning to our homes we can be living testimonies of His love, to all who cross our paths.

Communion for Celiacs: Knowing the needs of people with celiac conditions, it is informed that during the Opening Mass and the Final Mass, next to the Eucharistic tents, Holy Communion will be pre-prepared according to their needs.
